Prehospital Guide 4 Kids has been produced by paramedics for paramedics!
The guide contains the following: - Paediatric Trauma Scale.
- Paediatric GCS.
- Neonatal Resuscitation assessment chart including the APGAR score.
- Age to a page drug doses, weights, observation parameters & cardiac arrest details.
The guide is independant to any ambulance service and is based on a mixture of protocols, pharmacology and the ARC guidelines.
Made from a plastic / film coated type of material, the guide is easily wiped clean if fluids etc come in contact with it. It is truley a 'pocket sized' guide measuring 15cm high X 10.5cm wide and approximately 3mm thick with 38 pages of information.
Paramedics are reminded that this item is a guide only and local protocols and pharmacolgy should be followed as appropriate.

En route to the job I was able to go to the specific age group page, look up what I needed to refresh myself on. I was therefore prepared via the quick bit of revision and the ability to confirm doses etc from what I had written. I found the booklet to be valuable resource and it to be very well set out, particularly the specific section on cardiac arrest. It was far more effective than simply doing the sums in your head and much easier to use than other dosage cards. I commend the Paramedic Shop for stocking such a useful tool.
