Description

Edited by expert academics and educators, Brett Williams and Linda Ross, and written by content specialists and experienced clinicians, this essential resource encourages readers to see the links between the pathophysiology of a disease, how this creates the signs and symptoms and how these should to be managed in the out-of-hospital environment. Additionally, Paramedic Principles and Practice 2e will arm readers with not only technical knowledge and expertise, but also the non-technical components of providing emergency care, including professional attitudes and behaviours, decision-making, teamwork and communication skills.

Case studies are strategically used to contextualise the principles, step readers through possible scenarios that may be encountered and, importantly, reveal the process of reaching a safe and effective management plan. The case studies initially describe the pathology and typical presentation of a particular condition and progress to more-complex and less-typical scenarios where the practitioner faces increasing uncertainty.

Textbook

One of the finest textbooks ever published. The logical and sequential nature, is a most excellent resource that is specific to paramedic practice. Both informative and interesting to read. Well done to all those who contributed to its publication.

So thick!

Loving this book. It certainly gives some weight to my backpack while I'm carrying all my study gear around.
So far has come in incredibly hand with my study however the time between buying, receiving and writing this review, I've barely scratched the surface with reading it.

Perfect Fit

Exactly as described - good quality, genuine Littman rubbers delivered quickly.
Some initial issues with PayPal were also quickly sorted and at no financial cost to myself. A trusted source for medical equipment.

Considering various Leatherman tools, the Leatherman Arc is one option, but the Wave Plus offers a convenient size for pocket carry while still providing a comprehensive set of desired tools.

Great little resource book

Full of great info to help you remember all the acronyms (IMIST AMBO, METHANE, AMPLE, etc) plus good prompts for patient questioning, reading ECG's, and medical terminology. Well worth it.

Perfect 21st gift

We purchased the Leatherman Raptor Shears as a 21st gift for a paramedic student. It came highly recommended by a fellow medic and was very well received by the recipient. It’s a lifelong gift. 😀

Have found this to be excellent.
Accurate readings

Nebo DaVinci - a great torch

I am impressed by the quality and capability of this torch. The combination of water-tightness and zoom lamp is usually not very successful, but in this case it works. The size and brightness is just right for camping: not to big, not too bright. I also like the twist adjust for the brightness as I don't have to continually cycle through the various modes like other torches.
Price from the Paramedic Shop was good, and delivery was timely.

Amazing bit of information.

I am a volunteer in Western Australia and wanting to become a paramedic.
I wanted to know how the ECG's read and knowing what it looks like and honestly I have some knowledge in how. to read it.

Thank you

New you bueat tool

This new suction unit is the best piece of equipment we have ever purchased for our son who cannot dispose of his phlegm he coughs up. This unit is compact enough so we can place it on the back of his wheelchair and take it out and about for when he needs to use the unit.
